Challenge
The Client needed a new web application to align with their new affiliate partner, a well known international real estate brokerage. This required a complete rebranding of their business and adherence to the design guidelines provided by their partner. In addition to presentation, it was crucial for them to have a software solution that relied on the latest technologies in web development to gain a competitive advantage in their industry.
General Requirements:
- Modern, intuitive, and aligned with the partner's design guidelines.
- Mobile-first, fast, SEO optimized, and secure website.
- Intuitive administration portal.
- Integration with third-party services.
Solution
We analyzed the design guidelines provided and designed the complete UI/UX of the application, built an interactive prototype, and prepared the end design for development.
Based on the requirements, we chose to go with a JAMstack architecture approach, which is based on client-side JavaScript, reusable APIs, and prebuilt Markup. This enabled our application to have better performance, higher security, lower cost of scaling, and a better developer experience.
For the client-side application, we used Next.js and React. Next.js allowed us to have static and server-rendered pages, image optimization, internationalization, analytics, and security. All of these had a great positive impact on performance, SEO, and user experience.
We used Vercel as our main development platform, which, in combination with GitLab, allowed us to create an unbeatable CD/CI pipeline and boost our productivity and development experience.
For the APIs and content administration, we used a headless WordPress solution. WordPress is an open-source CMS with very good API management and GraphQL tools, great extensibility through plugins, and a huge user base, which means that site administrators and content creators will feel right at home. Integration with third-party services was a breeze since most of them had a ready-made plugin available in the WP plugin library.
Conclusion
CodeUp designed and built a next-generation application and website - a fast, scalable, search engine-optimized, and secure solution for the client's business needs, allowing them to gain the desired competitive advantage in the real estate industry.
